Onstream Media Corporation Signs Comprehensive Webcasting Agreement with the National Press Club
Onstream Media to Enable NPC's Multi-Media Center to Facilitate High Volume Webcasting Requirement
POMPANO BEACH, Florida Mar 12, 2007
Onstream Media Corporation ( OTC: ONSM), a leading online service provider of live and on- demand, digital media communications and applications, announced today it has signed an agreement with the National Press Club (NPC) whereby Onstream Media will install a state-of the art, on-site encoding center within the NPC's own Broadcast Operations Center that will be fully integrated with Onstream's Visual Webcaster platform. This technology enhancement will allow the NPC to directly provision video and audio webcasting services from Onstream Media in support of their slate of about 2000 events annually. The schedule of NPC's events, including webcasts, can be found at http://npc.press.org.
The NPC, based in Washington D.C., comprises nearly 4,000 reporters, editors, public information officers and others associated with the profession of journalism. The NPC conducts thousands of events annually, featuring national and international guest speakers, high-profile press conferences and other newsworthy events.
With Onstream Media's encoding center situated on-site, NPC broadcast personnel will have direct access to Onstream Media's full featured webcast delivery platform. The platform will provide the NPC with multiple streaming formats and delivery speeds and offers advanced features such as registration, delivery of PowerPoint, Q&A, audience polling, archived delivery and downloadable documents, among others. In addition, the new encoding center will eliminate the previous need for satellite or fiber optic transmission facilities to access one of Onstream Media's corporate encoding centers in Florida, New York or San Francisco.
"Due to our high volume events schedule and significant audience participation we needed an experienced partner with a proven ability to meet our demanding and unique requirements," said Howard Rothman, Director of Multimedia Services for the National Press Club. "We chose Onstream Media because of its reputation and capabilities in providing a reliable, high quality and scalable webcasting service to support our large global audience and client base."
"We are very pleased to add this prestigious organization to our growing list of high profile public-interest customers," said Randy Selman, president and chief executive officer of Onstream Media. "Given the number of events conducted annually by the National Press Club, we believe the placement of an encoding center at their facilities, fully integrated with our webcasting platform, will allow the NPC to streamline webcast production workflow and realize significant cost savings. As such, we see this new strategic partnership as a model for other organizations, providing the capability to integrate our technology and multi-media skills into their platforms to more efficiently service their large-scale webcasting needs."
